OUR PRODUCERS

Kitsch Wines - Kelowna

Est. 2010

The Kitsch family’s Okanagan roots stretch back to 1910, when Kelowna was still a small, lakefront pioneer settlement. Four generations later, this entrepreneurial family takes great pride in helping to shape the past and the future of the Okanagan Valley.

Founders Ria and Trent Kitsch have blended their passion for wine and creative entrepreneurship to produce premium, sustainably-grown wines that pair equally well with special occasions and Tuesday night Cards Against Humanity games. With a little help from some friends, the young family transformed overgrown fields into lush vineyards, set on historic apple orchards that originally served as the Kelowna Land and Orchards (KLO) headquarters.

The single-vineyard wines embody the region’s rich soil and sun-soaked valleys. Cultivated through generations of ambition and love, the Kitsch family has captured the Okanagan in a glass.

"We're so grateful to be the thread in the fabric of the Okanagan wine community."

Nikki was first introduced to Kitsch through the glass at local restaurants on the Island and was an immediate fan then when meeting with Continuum was more than excited to bring them on board the team - Clean presentation for a beautiful BC product.

BC WINES

District Wine Village - Oliver

Est. 2021

When the Coghill and Main families moved to the Okanagan to build Neighbourhood Brewing, they fell in love with wine country and had to get involved. With their roots in the brewing industry, they were told by some that getting into wine was a “Foolish” endeavour.

Our name might be Foolish, but the wine’s are far

from it.

Hops & Vine is excited to introduce Foolish to Vancouver Island. Brilliant packaging and refreshing wines that are sure to fill glasses and evenings! Nikki's particular favorite is the Gamay. We cannot wait to help our customers find the best way to get Foolish!

Okanagan Falls

Est. 2002

“In 2002 God herself took over a well established, yet unproven vineyard in Okanagan Falls, BC.”

“Our story focuses on local folklore, the blasting of a local church with dynamite in order to move it from A to B. Lately, there’s been a bit of a renaissance where the gods have emerged from the church paintings and are touring the modern West Coast.

We have lost control, these old souls do as they will.”

With a well formed and established team of founder and proprietor Evelyn Campbell, winemaker Evan Saunders, and vineyard manager John Bayley, Blasted Church winery has been producing and sharing beautiful wines with BC for over 2 decades. From iconic labeling to deliciously memorable wines this winery has been showing the Island some real flair for what BC wine can be.

Hops and Vine was excited to have Blasted Church join the team in 2020, bringing a stellar reputation and a fresh rebranding to the island, the timing made perfect sense. We are very much looking forward to what Blasted Church can do going into a new world with Island representation.

Back Door Winery - Kelowna

Est. 2022

Back Door Winery is owned and operated by Jesse Gill. They worked in the lumber industry on Vancouver Island and began berry farming in the Fraser Valley in the early-1980s. They purchased Double Barrel Vineyards, nestled between Oliver and Osoyoos, in 2008. When the opportunity came around to expand, the perfect piece of property was available on Jones Flat Road in Summerland. In 2020 they took over the vineyard to unlock the great wines from the grapes grown on the terrain.

"Behind every door lies a story. And, behind every great story, is a little bit of history"

Three Sisters - Okanagan

Est. 2016

"Let us celebrate the occasion with wine and sweet words" – Plautus

In 2003 John and Liz Lawrence, acquired a 15 acre property with a 7.5 acre planted vineyard. This retirement plan, although somewhat a hare-brained scheme, was based on a long family history of farming, a passion for growing and an appreciation of vineyards from around the world.

Earlco Vineyards Ltd was shaped in response to the burgeoning wine industry in the Okanagan, particularly on the Naramata Bench. The name is simply derived from the naming of our vineyard blocks after us, the three sisters: Emily, Abby and Rebecca Lawrence and put into a Company! After 10 years the company has extended its own vineyards and entered into arrangements with local owners for the care and maintenance of their vineyards. Now farming over 160 acres of vineyards, Earlco Vineyards Ltd is a well-established and recognized viticulture company in the Okanagan.

Then there is the fascination of wine….. ”All good; some better than others” as our Grandfather Jack used to say when drinking wine. When we realized we were working with amazing fruit we decided to plunge into making wine, this being led by our chief winemaker, Matt Mikulic. Matt, a viticulturist and winemaker trained in California, Argentina, Australia and his home country Croatia, began our winery vision and felt the name Three Sisters quite fitting as he has three of his own!

We are proud of our wines and invite you to taste them with your friends and family.

Nikki met Matt through Continuum and has been really excited to continue sharing the family from Three Sisters with the Island - his particular favorite is the Syrah.

SPIRITS

Antidote Distilling - Port Alberni

Est. 2021

We started Antidote Distilling Co with one goal in mind, and that was to create something true and unique to our town, island and province. To engage with our local community to frame a postcard for the valley. We are a craft distillery, who brings you artisanal spirits from the heart of Vancouver Island.

We ferment and distill the "Spirit of Alberni" with locally sourced grains and fruit, white crafting our products with the "wild-at-heart" in mind. By sourcing recycled bottles and by keeping our carbon footprint as low as possible, we want to lead the new wave in sustainable craft distilling.

May the Spirit of Alberni be enjoyed to the ends of the earth!

"You’ve found your Antidote"

Having met through festivals and shenanagins, Nikki and Nilo hit it off with a mutal love for delivering a locally focused product with a creative approach. Vaccuum disitillation, bottle wraps, and local foraging is one amazing thing - but what makes working with Antidote truly special is the unique relationship being extended to the bartenders and collaborators available in our community.

CANS

Dead Frog Brewery - Langley

Est. 2007

The first Dead Frog beer was brewed in a cramped but cozy warehouse across from the Aldergrove Drive-In in 2007. After honing his craft for 10 years at Backwoods Brewing, founder Derrick decided it was time to make his mark and changed up the name. Together with his wife Donna, Derrick opened the doors to Dead Frog in June of 2007 armed with the recipe for the Nut Brown (hastily scratched onto a bar napkin nights before), and a thirst to drive the industry forward. After a year of smashing his knee climbing over the forklift to get out of the brewery at night, Derrick decided it was time to find Dead Frog a new home. in 2008, Derrick, Donna, and the Dead Frog team moved into Brewery #2 and released Dead Frog's first six pack - the Nut Brown Ale. In 2018 Dead Frog moved into their fantastic new home in Langley, pouring beers in the beautiful new taproom with in-house kitchen. Check out the Party Paddle!

"Nothing Goes Down Like A Cold Dead Frog."

From seriously Sour mixer packs to Nutty Stouts, Dead Frog’s presence has been growing on the Island alongside Hops & Vine for over 7 years, with many more exciting new brews and flavours to come!

Introducing Grey Fox to the Island has been a real treat - with such a blossoming Celiac demo it has been really nice to bring something of such quality to the customer base.

One for the Road Brewing - Calgary AB

Est. 2006

After the Founder, Graham took a year off drinking in support of another - He found that benefits of being sober were so great that the only thing missing was the social side of it all. Not fully satisfied with the N/A Offerings available he decided to do something about it.. and One for the Road was born.

"Those who don't drink deserve to have a good beer. Those who do and want to have a good beer that doesn't slow them down deserve to have one. Those who want to stay out, have another beer and still get home, deserve to have one. This is what we are working towards!"

With the rise of the NA Market, One for the Road has been a truly exciting brand to work with on the Island. Classic Craft Beer packaging meets responsible drinking and you've got a way to keep the show on the road!

Element Cider Co. - Cawston

Est. 2006

Element Cider Co. is certified organic and carefully crafted from the outstanding elements known to the Similkameen Valley. Jo and Kaylan of Twisted Hills Craft Cider are entering a new chapter.

Their goal is to introduce quality cider to more people, more often and they began to pour their energy into a new and separate cider line under the name Element Cider Co.

By broadening the apple and fruit sources to other popular varieties, they can produce higher volumes of cider without compromising quality. And to help consumers include cider in more of their experiences, this cider is offered in cans which are more convenient to carry, quicker to cool, and easy to consume, anywhere. Whether at casual backyard barbeques, picnics, going for a hike or wherever you’re in your element.

"Organic heritage apples are this cider’s core element."

Element Cider has joined the family at the perfect time - Nikki had been on the hunt for the perfect cider to sell for years and has finally found it. Dry and crisp, such an easy choice for the Island cider drinker.
